Ms. Gordon works with Mr. Shapiro in the firm’s litigation department and also practices in the fields of estate planning and estate administration. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Gordon had extensive prior background in real estate transactions.
Dmitriy Izraetskiy joined our firm in 2014. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Franklin Pierce Law Center at the University of New Hampshire and is licensed to practice law in the States of New York and New Jersey.
Mr. Izraetskiy's practice is concentrated in the areas of civil litigation, with particular focus in personal injury, medical malpractice and general negligence and torts, and immigration matters.
Alexander Shapiro is one of the firm's founding partners. Mr. Shapiro focuses his practice in the areas of complex civil litigation, personal injury, serious accidents, wrongful death, asset protection, estate planning, elder law and business transactions.
Mr. Shapiro has extensive experience litigating various cases in the courts of New York, and has also been the supervising attorney in multi-jurisdictional cases involving different states as well as foreign countries. The results speak for themselves. Mr. Shapiro’s cases have been featured in various newspapers and media. Some of the representative cases handled by Mr. Shapiro include action to close down a “pirate” radio station on the basis of unfair competition and private enforcement of FCC orders, a dismissal of a federal case wherein our client, a hedge fund, was being sued for over $30,000,000, defeating an extradition pending against a client, and successfully returning two abducted children to their homes despite an absence of a treaty between the country to which child was abducted and the one where the return was being sought.
In terms of personal injury actions, Mr. Shapiro limits his practice to only serious accidents cases. Mr. Shapiro handles numerous complicated cases including construction accidents, defective product cases, and other negligence matters. If you were injured at work, you may be entitled to substantial compensation under NY Labor Law Section 240, 241 and 200. Mr. Shapiro’s experience extends to handling complicated cases including Traumatic Brain Injuries, where the manifestation of symptoms may take many months or even years to develop.
Mr. Shapiro also practices appellate work and has successfully prosecuted appeals from the trial court as well as complex civil litigation, including various corporate, business and contract disputes, medical malpractice, estate planning, estate administration and probates, asset protection, and tax planning.
Mr. Shapiro was a three year recipient of the merit based Chancellor Scholarship at Seton Hall Law and graduated in the top five percent of his class, Magna Cum Laude. Mr. Shapiro was the recipient of the annual Advanced Legal Writing Award and was inducted to the Order of the Coif. Mr. Shapiro received his Bachelors of Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
In addition to his legal experience, Mr. Shapiro worked for JP Morgan Investment Management, where he was involved in asset management in an equity group managing over $60 billion in assets. Some representative clients of Mr. Shapiro include multi-national asset management companies, media companies, telecom companies and celebrities. Mr. Shapiro's experience prior to co-founding Palant & Shapiro, P.C. includes working as a tax attorney at Deloitte & Touch and a partner in the law firm of Wolf & Shapiro, PLLC.
Boris Palant received his Juris Doctor degree from State University of New York in Buffalo in 1983. Since 1984 he has been in private practice, having represented clients from all over the world, including Russia, Ukraine, France, UK, Germany, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Israel, Argentina and China.
Over the span of 32 years Boris Palant has successfully handled thousands of various types of immigration cases, ranging from fiancee visas (K-1) to “green cards” on the basis of extraordinary ability (EB-1) to complicated removal proceedings involving fraud.
Boris Palant has served as Trust Protector and has represented clients in complex litigation matters before foreign and international tribunals. He has consulted foreign businessmen on issues involving transparency of capital, repatriation of capital, tax consequences of acquisition of the US resident alien status and of surrendering this status; successfully handled complicated international child abduction cases.
Boris Palant also hosts a popular weekly radio show on legal subjects at 6:20AM, and he also appears as a guest and a legal commentator in TV and radio programs of the BBC, Voice of America, RTVi, RTN, NTV America. His column on legal issues is featured in the Russian-American weekly “Russkaya Reklama”.
